A charming mid-20th-century set comprising approximately 32 vintage glass marbles housed in a hand-painted wooden box. The marbles include mixed colours—greens, blues, ambers and smoky browns—with attractive ribbon and swirl patterns typical of mid-century machine-made marbles. They present well with good clarity and no obvious cracks, only light surface wear from use.
The wooden box is of simple construction with a sliding lid, decorated with a painted scene and motifs and signed “Holland”. The lid shows some wear and losses to the paint but retains good character. A lovely decorative item and a nostalgic group for collectors or display.
Condition: Marbles generally good used condition; box with wear, small lid edge splits and paint losses.
