Antique Johann Roth Rudolstadt Porcelain Rococo Wall Sconces – Blue & White – c.1890–1900
A beautiful pair of antique Rococo Revival porcelain wall sconces made by the Johann Roth Porcelain Factory of Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany, dating from circa 1890–1900.
Each sconce is richly modelled with sweeping rocaille scrolls, floral moulding, and hand-painted cobalt blue decoration in the classic Central European style.
The reverse carries the factory’s underglaze blue crowned JR mark, confirming production by Johann (Johanson) Roth, one of Rudolstadt’s most respected porcelain manufacturers of the late 19th century.
