Early 20th Century 9ct Gold Rectangular Wristwatch
An early rectangular wristwatch with 9 carat gold (375) case, the reverse clearly stamped “375”. The gently curved rectangular case houses an unsigned silvered dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds aperture, fitted with a period winding crown.
The watch is mounted on a fabric strap with base-metal fittings. The gold case shows expected surface wear, light scratches and verdigris around the lugs, consistent with age and use. The dial displays attractive vertical engine-turned texture, typical of early wristwatches from the 1910s–1920s, a transitional period from pocket to wrist-worn timepieces.
Movements not tested. Sold as found.
