A Royal Air Force Aircrew Flying Coverall, Mk. 14, olive drab cotton, mid–late 20th century.
A well-preserved example of the standard RAF aircrew coverall, the Mk.14, manufactured to M.R.I. 3046 Issue and bearing a NATO identification label. Constructed in robust olive green cotton, the suit features a full-length front zip closure, zip-fastened chest pockets, reinforced thigh and lower-leg pockets, adjustable cuffs, and integral ankle zips for ease of wear over flying boots. The interior retains its original instruction and identity labels, including the printed warning against starching, and a sewn “Modification Record” label, typical of service issue garments. Exhibiting honest wear and light service use consistent with age, this utilitarian yet iconic garment reflects the functional design language of Cold War–era RAF flight equipment and would make a desirable addition to a collection of military aviation uniforms or twentieth-century service dress.
