A Vintage Wooden Model of an 18th–Early 19th Century Frigate
This vintage wooden model of a three-masted sailing ship is an 18th–early 19th century frigate model, loosely inspired by British, French, or American naval frigates of the Age of Sail, roughly 1750–1820. The hull is constructed of wood with a cream and green painted finish separated by a thin red line and features small black portholes along its length. The vessel is fully rigged with three masts, numerous tan-colored fabric sails, and intricate black cordage. Notable deck details include small lifeboats, a red-capped structure, and a mesh net at the bowsprit. The model is mounted on a rectangular black base with two turned wooden supports. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible.
