Resin Landscape Table, 2001
Marine-grade steel frame with abstract blue–green resin artwork top
61cm x 62cm x 42cm
Maker’s seal present
A highly distinctive contemporary British resin artwork table by designer Nick Mackrory, created in 2001. Mackrory began working with resin in the early 1990s while shaping surfboards and is recognised as one of the earliest UK designers to explore resin as a furniture medium. His work has featured in London exhibitions and design publications, celebrated for its innovative fusion of industrial materials with painterly, organic surface forms.
This example features a polished marine-grade steel frame — the same durable steel used in maritime engineering — supporting a stunning hand-worked resin top. The surface displays swirling, topographical patterns in oceanic blue and green hues, creating an abstract landscape effect that shifts with the light. The resin’s high-gloss finish and subtle depth make the table function as both a practical piece of furniture and a collectable artwork.
Signed with Mackrory’s maker’s seal, this is a rare opportunity to acquire an early example by a pioneering figure in modern British studio design. An ideal statement piece for interiors, contemporary art collections, or mid-century / modern design settings.
