A Group of English Masonic Regalia, Silver Jewels and Ephemera
A comprehensive group of English Craft Masonic regalia and associated ephemera, comprising a light blue and white Masonic apron with pleated rosettes and gilt metal fittings, together with an officer’s collar and sash in blue and crimson, mounted with gilt metal and triangular collar jewels, indicative of lodge office.
The lot includes two hallmarked silver Masonic presentation jewels, each decorated with traditional Masonic symbolism including the Square and Compasses and star devices:
a blue-ribbon silver jewel, weight 32.62g
a white-ribbon silver jewel, weight 16.6g
Both jewels bear English silver hallmarks and relate to lodge service or office within Craft (Blue Lodge) Freemasonry.
Also included is a black leather fitted regalia case, gilt-initialled “D.P.M.”, housing the regalia, together with a quantity of lodge ephemera and printed material, including By-Laws of The St. John’s Lodge No. 1247, United Grand Lodge of England Constitutions (1970), a Devonshire Freemasons’ Calendar (1976–77), and an Installation Dinner programme dated 1978, providing clear contextual dating and provenance.
The quantity and quality of the regalia suggest ownership by a long-serving lodge officer, possibly a Worshipful Master or Past Master.
Condition generally good, with light wear and patination consistent with ceremonial use.
