A Turquoise-Glazed Relief-Decorated Ceramic Vase in a Chinese Style, Together with an Italian Hand-Painted Brushed-Glaze Studio Pottery Bowl
The vase, of compressed baluster form, is moulded in relief with stylised landscape panels depicting trees, water and architectural elements, beneath a glossy turquoise glaze with areas of pooling, crackle and surface variation. The decoration is executed in a Chinese-inspired style; no maker’s mark is visible, and the piece is offered as decorative ware.
The accompanying shallow bowl is Italian-made, hand-painted, and finished in a pale green and cream brushed glaze with a spiral interior decoration. The underside bears printed marks “Handpainted and Made in Italy Exclusively for NPD ©1995, 11 Penn Plaza, New York, NY 10001”, together with a Made in Italy label.
Both pieces show wear and glaze irregularities consistent with decorative use. An attractive mixed lot combining Orientalist-style decoration with late 20th-century Italian studio pottery, suitable for interior display.
