Both items exhibit significant signs of age and use. The copper scuttle shows a heavy patina, surface oxidation, and verdigris, particularly concentrated around the seams and rivets. The companion set shows wear to the brass finish, loss of bristles to the brushes, and general surface tarnishing consistent with fireside use.
