A 19th Century Hand-Coloured Engraving of St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall
A 19th-century hand-coloured engraving titled St Michael’s Mount, Cornwall. The work is after an original by Birket Foster (pinxt) and was engraved by J. Saddler (sculp). The scene depicts a coastal landscape with several figures and a dog on a shore, assisting a boat through crashing waves, with the historic landmark of St Michael’s Mount visible in the background. The print is housed in a gold-toned frame with an off-white textured mat. The reverse of the frame features a handwritten date of c. 1844 and a gold dealer label stating the item is a hand-coloured engraving guaranteed to be over 100 years old.

Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition. There is minor wear to the gold-toned frame consistent with age. The print and mat appear well-preserved with no significant foxing or damage visible.
