A Pair of Abstract Biomorphic Sculptures by Linda King
This representational oil on stretched canvas depicts a tranquil riverside scene, featuring a dirt path winding up a grassy hill on the left and a prominent, slender tree centrally positioned overlooking a calm body of water. In the background, small cottages are nestled into rolling green hills under a broad, overcast sky. The work is executed with blended brushwork in the sky and more textured applications in the foreground foliage and terrain. The painting is signed and dated F. Maskens ’74 in the lower left corner. The artwork is set within a substantial, multi-tiered gold-toned frame with ornate decorative moldings.
Condition report:
The sculptures are in good overall condition, exhibiting minor surface abrasions and small pits consistent with the nature of the material and the hand-finished production process.
