Two Brass Items Including an Artillery Shell Casing and Ornate Bell Cap
This lot consists of a large brass artillery shell casing and an accompanying decorative brass-toned metal cap. The cylindrical shell casing features a rimmed base and a worn exterior. The separate lid is designed with a small pedestal foot and a rounded base featuring etched floral scrollwork and a slatted, caged dome top. Cap is of a style frequently identified as an elephant claw bell or censer. Both items are composed of brass.
