Wang Hing Chinese Export Silver & Turquoise Enamel Character Belt Buckle, c.1900
A finely worked Chinese export silver belt buckle by the celebrated Hong Kong silversmith Wang Hing, formed as two interlocking panels intricately pierced with stylised Chinese characters, bamboo leaves and foliate motifs. The design is enriched with vibrant turquoise enamel set against a textured ground, creating a striking contrast typical of high quality export pieces from the workshop.
The reverse bearing the Wang Hing mark, dating the piece to the late Qing dynasty export period, circa 1900. Wang Hing silver remains among the most sought-after Chinese export silver produced in Hong Kong during this period.
A striking and collectible example of Chinese export silver combining elegant openwork with vivid enamel decoration.
