Late Victorian Pocket Watch Signed Wearne, Camborne, c.1900
A late Victorian pocket watch with enamel dial, Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, signed Wearne, Camborne, a Cornish jeweller and watch retailer active during the late 19th century. The watch features a keyless wind crown and suspension loop within a plain case.
The case has not been opened to inspect the movement or confirm the case metal in hopes not to damage it, and is therefore offered as unexamined. Retailer-signed watches such as this were commonly produced by Swiss manufacturers and supplied to local jewellers for sale under their name.
