Description
A Collection of Mid-to-Late 20th Century Decorative Glassware including a 1977 Silver Jubilee Commemorative Jar
This collection of decorative glassware features a cobalt blue apothecary-style jar produced to commemorate the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The square-bodied jar includes a rounded shoulder and a matching domed blue glass stopper, with a gilt transfer depicting a crown above the royal cypher E II R, flanked by the words THE QUEEN’S SILVER JUBILEE and the dates 1952 – 1977. The group also includes an amber-coloured globular vase with vertical ribbing and a short flared rim, alongside a magenta-coloured waisted vase with a flared rim and internal spiral swirl ribbing. Completing the collection is a two-piece clear glass hurricane lamp, comprising a pedestal base with a stepped circular foot and a baluster stem, and a separate flared glass chimney.
