Description
A Pair of Japanese Silk Embroideries Depicting Mount Fuji Landscapes
A pair of mid-20th century Japanese silk embroideries, each work is executed in fine silk thread on a textile ground. The first embroidery depicts a traditional sailing vessel on a body of water with Mount Fuji rising in the background, flanked by pine trees and cherry blossoms. The second embroidery features a wooden bridge leading towards a traditional architectural structure, also set against a backdrop of Mount Fuji and seasonal flora. The compositions are rendered in a palette of blues, greens, and pinks. Both pieces are housed in matching decorative gilded wooden frames featuring a blue accent line. No Cyrillic signatures, hallmarks, or maker’s marks are visible on the artworks or frames.
