John Bampfield (British, b. 1947), oil on stretched canvas. This mid-20th-century impressionistic work depicts a snow-covered Parisian street, likely in the Montmartre district, with the iconic dome of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica visible in the background. The artist employs a heavy impasto technique, using thick, expressive brushwork to render the snowy foreground, architectural details, and bare winter trees. A solitary figure is depicted near a building with a vibrant red awning, adding a focal point to the muted wintry palette. Signed John Bampfield lower right. The canvas is secured to a wooden stretcher and bears a MADE IN ENGLAND stamp on the margin, alongside handwritten notations in red reading OIL and 3475 on the upper bar.
