Description
A Pair of Contemporary Cornish Recycled Wood Wall Plaques
A pair of contemporary decorative wall hangings produced in Cornwall, United Kingdom, from recycled timber. The first item is a rectangular plaque designed as a whimsical pub sign for the Guzzlin Goose Inn. It features a black-painted ground with yellow block lettering and a central hand-painted illustration of a white goose holding a tankard, finished with white paint splatters. The second item is a wall-mounted hook board featuring a raised black silhouette of a dog, resembling a retriever, holding a leash in its mouth. This piece consists of a white central panel within a black border and is fitted with three metal hooks along the lower edge. Both items bear a hand-painted monogram to the lower right corner consisting of a vertical stroke intertwined with the letters S and P. The reverse of each board is inscribed by hand noting the origin in Cornwall and the use of recycled woods, alongside the maker monogram and the instruction for indoor use only. Both pieces are fitted with metal hanging tabs to the upper edge.
