Description
Delphine China, Imari Style Side Plates
A set of five circular side or tea plates crafted from fine bone china by Delphine China. Each plate is decorated in a vibrant Imari-inspired palette, featuring hand-enamelled floral sprays in rust-orange, green, and cobalt blue. The rim is finished with a formal border consisting of black panels separated by gilded vertical lines, accented with small floral motifs. The decoration is achieved through a combination of transfer-printing and hand-painting with gilded highlights. On the reverse, each plate bears a printed mark in gold featuring a crown above a scrolled banner containing the letters DELPHINE, with CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND below. Delphine China was a trade name used by Hudson & Middleton Ltd. of Longton, Staffordshire. Diameter 17cm.
