Ford & Sons and George Jones & Sons Lincoln and Truro Serving Platters
A group of three late 19th to early 20th-century Staffordshire earthenware oval serving platters with green transfer-printed decoration. The first is a small platter by Ford & Sons Ltd of Burslem in the Lincoln pattern, featuring a scalloped rim with floral and scroll motifs and gilt highlights. The base is marked with a green printed stamp transcribing as F & SONS LTD above a horizontal banner containing the word LINCOLN and BURSLEM below. The remaining two items are a graduated pair of George Jones & Sons Crescent China platters in the Truro pattern, decorated with a repeating laurel leaf swag border under a lattice-patterned rim. These are marked to the base with a green printed mark transcribing as CRESCENT arched over a crescent moon symbol containing the word SONS, with the words ENGLAND and TRURO below.
