Description
Imperial Russian Brass Jug / Measure, Moscow Double-Headed Eagle Mark, Pre-Revolutionary c.1900
A characterful Russian brass pouring jug of elegant tapering form, the elongated neck terminating in a flared lip and fitted with a riveted strap handle. The base stamped with a double-headed eagle and the Cyrillic “МОСКВА” (Moscow) mark, indicating production in Moscow during the late Imperial period.
The vessel is constructed with a visible hand-worked seam and soldered base, typical of traditional workshop brassware of the late 19th to early 20th century. The surface displays a rich aged patina with areas of natural verdigris, enhancing its historic character and decorative appeal.
An attractive example of late Imperial Russian metalwork, well suited as a decorative object or cabinet piece.
