Description
A Victorian silver-mounted carving set by Martin, Hall & Co., Sheffield, retailed by J. Carr & Son, Kilmarnock
Comprising a carving knife and two-pronged fork, each with steel blades and silver-mounted hafts, the handles inset with a Royal coat-of-arms cartouche and further applied crest motif. The knife blade stamped “V R / Martin Hall & Co / Sheffield”. The fork bears English silver hallmarks to the shank. Both housed in the original fitted leather case, the silk lining gilt-stamped “J. Carr & Son, Silversmiths & Watchmakers, Kilmarnock”.
