Lot 114:
Description
This collection consists of decorative novelty and souvenir items themed around medieval and historical weaponry, including a miniature dagger letter opener attributed to Du Marco. The lot includes two figurines depicting knights in full plate armour with a gold-toned metallic finish. These are mounted on black rectangular plastic bases, each featuring a small gilt label reading ARMOURED KNIGHT. The underside of one base is stamped with NO. 5001 and MADE IN HONG KONG. The decorative miniature curved dagger is styled after a Middle Eastern jambiya. The blade is single-edged with etched scrollwork decoration and small inset spots of red, yellow, and blue enamel-like pigment. The hilt is cast gold-toned metal with an ornate crossguard and pommel, while the grip features banded segments of a cream-coloured composite material. The accompanying black scabbard features a gold-toned cast metal locket and chape with scrolled openwork and a terminal ball. The collection also contains a small gold-toned decorative shield featuring a radial sunburst design and a thin gold-toned metal rod representing a miniature spear or pike.
