Description
A collection of seven vintage pocket lighters of various manufacture, primarily dating from the mid-20th century. The lot includes a Mosda 500 automatic lighter with a chrome-plated finish and engine-turned geometric decoration, stamped to the base Automatic Lighter, Mosda 500, Made in England, Patent No 637135. Also present is a British-made Super Depend chrome-plated lighter, stamped to the base Super British Made Depend, featuring a Ronson maker’s mark to the ignition arm. A Brother-Lite decorative lighter features a map of Belgium in red and blue on a textured gold-tone ground, marked Brother-Lite to the ignition arm and Belgie and Belgique to the map. The collection further contains a chrome-plated presentation lighter hand-engraved with the script Love From Vicky Xmas 1947, and a miniature gold-tone lighter decorated with a red shield and cross motif, stamped Japan to the base. Completing the lot are a tall rectangular lighter with black textured side panels and a flat rectangular metal lighter with circular apertures to one side and significant surface wear.
