Description
A collection of British Post Office Picture Cards (PHQ cards) and maximum cards housed in a dedicated black ring-bound album with gold-toned lettering on the spine. The collection includes various commemorative issues from 1985 and 1986, featuring subjects such as Industry Year 1986, British Insects, Famous Trains, and Royal Air Force leaders and aircraft. Several items are prepared as maximum cards with corresponding postage stamps affixed to the design side and cancelled with First Day of Issue circular date stamps from the Exeter District. Cancellation dates include 12 MAR 1985, 14 MAY 1985, 19 NOV 1985, and 16 SEP 1986. The cards are printed in multi-colour photogravure, with many bearing the imprint of The House of Questa, London. Some cards are postally travelled with handwritten addresses to a recipient in Exeter, Devon. The items are stored in clear plastic sleeves.
