Description
A George V sterling silver napkin ring of circular form with slightly flared rims. The exterior surface is decorated with engine-turned banding, comprising a central broad band of repeating chevron patterns bordered by parallel lines and geometric running dog style borders. The interior is polished. The item is housed in a fitted two-piece cardboard presentation box with a blue-grey textured exterior and black velvet lining. The body of the napkin ring is struck with a full set of English hallmarks: the maker mark H.C.D in a rectangular punch for Henry Clifford Davis, the lion passant for .925 sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the lowercase date letter g for 1931.
