Description
A mid-century modern stoneware table lamp manufactured by Denby Pottery and decorated by Glyn Colledge. The ceramic base is of tapering cylindrical form with a ribbed neck and features a horizontally ribbed texture under a speckled oatmeal glaze. The lower section is decorated with a hand-painted band of repeating circular and geometric motifs in earth tones of brown and ochre. The underside rim of the ceramic base bears the impressed mark DENBY and a cursive signature in dark pigment for Glyn Colledge. The lamp is supplied with a large bell-shaped fabric shade featuring a cream-on-cream damask floral pattern and a decorative braided trim. The base is cork-lined and the item is fitted with a black twin-core power cable and a standard white UK three-pin plug. Auctioneer’s Note: This item is sold as a decorative object only. It has not been PAT tested and must be inspected and tested by a qualified electrician before being connected to a mains supply.
