Description
A glazed ceramic money box designed in the form of a toadstool cottage. The base is modelled as a white stalk featuring a moulded arched doorway with a yellow door and a window with green shutters. The mushroom cap serves as the vessel, featuring a coin slot at the apex and a pale blue line around the rim. The cap is decorated with transfer-printed illustrations of anthropomorphic mice in various rural scenes and attire, set amongst wildflowers and grasses. The style of illustration is characteristic of Jill Barklem’s Brambly Hedge series. No factory marks or signatures are visible on the exterior of the item; the base is not shown.
