Lot 161:
Description
This framed numismatic collection, titled Royal History of Great Britain and issued by Heritage Mint, contains a selection of British coins and reproductions arranged by royal lineage from William I to Elizabeth II. The display incorporates authentic historic coins from the reigns of Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II alongside cast reproductions for earlier periods. Authentic specimens include a bronze Queen Victoria penny featuring the veiled head portrait, a King George V silver threepence minted prior to 1919, and cupro-nickel denominations for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The reproduction pieces represent the Norman, Plantagenet, Tudor, Stuart, and early Hanoverian houses, appearing as silver and copper-coloured casts of historic hammered and early milled coinage. The collection is mounted on a blue card with gold-toned inscriptions and heraldic symbols, housed in a dark wood-effect frame with a gilt inner slip. The lot is accompanied by an original information leaflet titled The Coins and Arms Featured in your Royal History of Great Britain Collection. The reverse of the frame bears the gilt-stamped mark of Heritage Mint beneath a portcullis and rose crest.
