Lot 165:
Description
This collection of eight pieces of glassware includes a variety of decorative and advertising items. It features a clear cut glass ship’s-style decanter with a wide base, decorated with deep geometric starburst and diamond-cut patterns, a faceted neck, and a flared, plain rim. The lot includes a traditional German Roemer wine glass with a wide clear bowl decorated with hand-painted enamel grape clusters in red and green, gilt vine leaves, and a gilt script inscription reading Berlin. This is supported by a translucent green glass stem with a trailing ribbed coil and a circular foot with a gilt rim. Also present is a vintage Babycham advertising glass of coupe form with a gilt rim and the yellow and blue chamois logo, with the foot printed BABYCHAM in blue block capitals. There is a pair of liqueur glasses with bowls enamelled in pink and white to resemble flower petals, set on green stems and circular feet; one base is marked REGISTERED and the other FOREIGN. The collection is completed by a trio of clear glass wine or sherry glasses, each featuring a stem containing three internal coloured glass knops in red, pale blue, and dark blue.
