Description
A lot comprising two decorative ceramic pieces. The first is a square glazed earthenware dish featuring a scalloped inner rim and notched corners, decorated with a central daisy motif on a lime green ground with a cream-coloured border. The reverse is stamped in black uppercase letters SOLO USO DECORATIVO. The second item is a high-relief majolica style wall plaque or ornament modelled as a dense cluster of various fruits, including apples, a pear, an orange, grapes, a banana, and a walnut, all resting upon a large green leaf base. This piece is finished in bright multi-coloured glazes. The reverse of the plaque bears incised marks P 6 8 7 and PORTUGAL, with a further faint incised word above. A small paper label is also adhered to the reverse printed MADE IN PORTUGAL.
