Lot 168:
Description
A late 19th or early 20th-century table-top oil or paraffin lamp. The item is constructed from brass-finished metal with a rounded font and a pedestal base on a circular foot. It is fitted with a clear glass chimney. The burner assembly includes a perforated gallery designed to hold a secondary outer glass shade, which is missing. Stamped characters are present on the circular face of the wick-adjustment knob, though they are not clearly legible. The design and form are consistent with lamps produced by manufacturers such as Lempereur and Bernard. The lamp remains in its original non-electric state.
