Description
A traditional arched woven wicker picnic hamper with a carrying handle and leatherette fastening straps. The interior is lined with blue fabric and contains secured ceramic plates and mugs featuring a blue-and-white checked border and fruit motifs, alongside blue plastic cutlery. The loose contents include an assortment of glassware featuring a cut-glass flute with diamond and fan cutting, a wine glass with an applied metal grape cluster, and a sherry glass. Also included is a silver-plated cake server with scroll engraving and various plastic beakers, one bearing a manufacturer label for Room Plastics. Accompanying the hamper is a tapered ceramic planter decorated with a hand-painted floral spray and green scrollwork, and a set of clear glass bowls comprising one larger bowl and three smaller dessert bowls, each featuring a ruby-red rim decorated with a gilded sunburst motif.
Condition report:
The wicker hamper shows minor wear and loose strands consistent with use. The interior fabric lining is marked and stained in several places. The ceramic and glass items appear generally intact with no visible chips or cracks, though they require cleaning.
