Description
A vintage large-format cardboard retail box for StarOffice version 5.2, published by Sun Microsystems. This software package was a significant competitor to Microsoft Office and served as the codebase for the later open-source project OpenOffice.org. The suite advertised includes word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, drawing and graphics, e-mail, and web publishing tools. The box design incorporates the Sun Microsystems logo and a butterfly graphic. The reverse of the packaging includes a feature comparison table against Microsoft Office 2000 and indicates compatibility with Windows, Solaris, and LINUX operating systems. Printed identification marks on the lower reverse include Part No: 411-1886-01 and Revision A, June, 2000.
