Description
A Denby glazed stoneware sauce boat and matching oval stand. The pieces are finished in a mottled brown treacle-style glaze with a contrasting lighter drip-effect glaze to the rims. The underside of the stand bears a circular blue Denby Made in England backstamp. Accompanying the ceramics is an assortment of kitchen and serving cutlery. This group includes a carving set comprising a knife and two-tine fork, both featuring genuine stag horn handles and stainless steel blades. Also included is a Granton slicer with a serrated stainless steel blade, marked for Sheffield, England, with patent number 322390 and fitted with a dark green composite handle. Completing the group is a utility knife with a shaped wooden handle secured by brass rivets.
