A collection of United Kingdom First Day Covers housed in a Stanley Gibbons New Thames Cover Album, comprising a black textured ring-binder with gold-tone spine lettering and the SG logo. The collection spans the period from approximately 1966 to 1987 and includes a variety of commemorative and definitive issues. Featured commemorative sets include the 1966 British Technology issue, the 1066 Battle of Hastings 900th Anniversary, 1967 British Paintings, the Sir Francis Chichester Gipsy Moth IV voyage, Philympia 1970, the 1979 Year of the Child, and the 1987 St John Ambulance Centenary. The album also contains multiple Machin-head definitive issues in pre-decimal and decimal values. Covers feature official First Day of Issue cancellations and circular date stamps from the GPO Philatelic Bureau and Exeter offices, primarily addressed to a recipient in Exeter, Devon. Accompanying the covers are GPO Philatelic Bureau technical presentation cards and descriptive inserts.
