Description
Orbis Publishing Ltd, Treasures of the Earth: The Minerals and Gemstones Collection. This lot consists of six issues from the partwork series, specifically issues 4, 11, 21, 31, 41, and 51. Each issue is housed in its original card presentation box, designed as a collector’s tray with a clear plastic window to display the included geological specimens. The specimens comprise Topaz gem and mineral samples (Issue 4), Lapis lazuli and Zircon gem samples (Issue 11), Carnelian gem and Mica mineral samples (Issue 21), Amber and Rock Crystal gem samples (Issue 31), Lepidolite mineral and Spodumene gem samples (Issue 41), and Verdelite and Rutile gemstone samples (Issue 51). The collection is accompanied by three official red PVC-covered ring binders, numbered 1, 2, and 3, with gold-tone lettering and the Orbis logo. This series was a popular UK partwork in the early 1990s, with each issue featuring educational text alongside physical samples. The original retail price of £2.50 is marked on the packaging.
