A collection of British decimal postage stamps housed in a Stanley Gibbons Windsor Loose-Leaf Album, Volume III, covering the period 1982 to 1990. The collection includes a variety of Machin head definitives in multiple denominations and colours, alongside various commemorative issues. Notable commemorative sets include the 1984 25th Anniversary of C.E.P.T., 1984 Centenary of the Greenwich Meridian, 1986 Appearance of Halley’s Comet, 1986 60th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, and the 1989 150th Anniversary of the Royal Microscopical Society. The lot features several multiples, including a strip of stamps for the 1984 Bicentenary of First Mail Coach Run and a strip of stamps for the 1989 800th Anniversary of the Lord Mayor of London. A 1990 Stamp World London 90 International Stamp Exhibition £1 miniature sheet (SG MS1501) is present, featuring a pink circular date stamp cancellation dated 3 May 1990. The stamps are primarily photogravure or lithographed on phosphorised paper with perforation gauges of 15 x 14 or 14 x 15 as specified by the album pages. The album is a red-bound loose-leaf binder with gold-tone spine lettering.
