A Philips Automatic Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder
A vintage mono reel-to-reel tape recorder by Philips, manufactured in Austria. The unit features a black plastic casing and a matching removable top cover. The front facade comprises a silver-toned slatted speaker grille. Functional controls include five top-mounted piano-key style buttons in red and white for playback and recording, positioned alongside an analog level meter and printed AUTOMATIC text. The lower front panel houses two black rotary control knobs for volume and tone, each set within a silver-toned surround marked with a triangular volume symbol and a musical clef symbol respectively. A small rectangular plate marked AUTOMATIC is located above these controls. The lower right corner is printed with the PHILIPS brand name and MADE IN AUSTRIA alongside the manufacturer’s shield logo. The design and features of this unit are consistent with the Philips EL3572A model.
