A Pair of Gray’s China Anthropomorphic Fox Hunting Figurines
A pair of hand-painted ceramic anthropomorphic figurines depicting foxes in traditional English hunting attire. The male figure is dressed in a red hunting coat, yellow waistcoat, and white breeches, holding a black velvet cap and a riding whip. The female figure is depicted in a red hunting coat and a full-length blue side-saddle habit with a veiled top hat. Both figurines are mounted on circular ceramic bases. The undersides of the bases bear green printed marks which read: A GRAY’S CHINA Production, accompanied by a scripted name and Made in England. The figures exhibit detailed hand-painted finishes to the fur and clothing.
