Curated Estate Auction: 1000+ Egg Cups, Xena and Star Wars Collectibles, Silver Plate, Bronze and Porcelain Figurines
A Collection of Hong Kong and China Related Artworks, Collectibles, and Ephemera
A varied collection of decorative artworks, commemorative items, and ephemera, with a focus on Hong Kong and China. The lot includes a large framed oil painting on canvas depicting a traditional junk boat at sunset, signed Susan to the lower right, housed in a decorative gilt-composition frame. There are two street scenes executed in an impressionistic style reminiscent of Paris, both signed BURNETT. One is framed in dark wood, while the larger piece remains unframed.
Collectibles within the group include a wooden commemorative wall plaque bearing the enamelled crest of the Royal Hong Kong Police with a presentation scroll below. Numismatic and philatelic interest is represented by a display card of Currency Coins of the People’s Republic of China and a souvenir volume titled Postage Stamps of China.
Additional items include a Hong Kong Government Telephone Directory from 1992, a small cased diorama of a temple, a framed botanical print featuring a bird in a bamboo-effect frame, and several smaller framed decorative pieces. Some of these smaller works are identified with Hong Kong text and depict local scenes such as a traditional tram and junk boats. One boxed item is labelled Heraldic Shield and appears to contain a further commemorative piece.
