A Collection of Various Blue and White Ceramic Egg Cups including Arras and Gzhel Examples
A collection of various ceramic egg cups featuring a range of blue and white decorative styles. The assortment includes several pedestal forms, a double-ended cup in the willow pattern, a figural hen-shaped cup, and a cup with an integral saucer. Decorative techniques include transfer-printed designs and hand-painted elements, featuring motifs such as Dutch-style windmill landscapes, floral sprays, and geometric lattice patterns. Visible markings include a hand-painted script mark to the underside of one cup reading Porcelaine décor main Bleu d’Arras M Segard. The figural hen features a red factory mark and a green circular stamp with Cyrillic characters reading ГЖЕЛЬ and СССР, signifying Soviet-era Gzhel production. Other pieces show additional manufacturer marks including a blue AR monogram and various partially legible green factory stamps, with some examples in the style of Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted patterns.
