Two Japanese-style black-glazed porcelain vessels with gilded floral decoration
Two black-glazed porcelain decorative items, comprising a baluster-shaped vase and a smaller lidded jar. The vase features a flared, gilded rim and is decorated with large polychrome floral motifs and a butterfly, with details picked out in gold-toned outlines. The lidded jar displays a central circular medallion depicting mandarin ducks under flowering branches against a textured metallic background. Both pieces feature gilded accents to the rims and bases. A small gold-coloured label on the lid of the jar is partially legible, indicating the use of 24 carat gold in the decoration.
