A majolica-style ceramic rooster jug, modelled in high relief and decorated in vivid polychrome glazes, the cockerel shown standing upright with open beak and sweeping tail forming the handle. The bold colouring and lively modelling reflect the popular tradition of novelty animal wares produced in Europe during the mid-20th century, often inspired by earlier majolica designs. Height 30 cm, width approx. 12 cm.
