A Collection of Fluck and Law Spitting Image Satirical Egg Cups and Goebel Monastic Figurines
A collection of novelty ceramic egg cups and figurines divided into two primary thematic groups. The first group consists of satirical caricature egg cups by Fluck and Law, created for the television programme Spitting Image. These pieces depict various political and cultural figures, including Margaret Thatcher and members of the Royal Family such as King Charles III. Several examples bear the rectangular BOSS mark to the base. The second group comprises a series of whimsical monastic and animal-themed items, including monks in various coloured habits and calves with playful expressions. These pieces are marked to the underside Goebel and W. Germany. All items are constructed from glazed ceramic with polychrome decoration.
