An Assortment of Ceramic and Decorative Figurines including Beswick Beatrix Potter, Goebel, and Leonardo Collection Examples
An assortment of ceramic and decorative figurines featuring various animal and character subjects. The collection includes two figurines from the Beatrix Potter series by Beswick, England: Jemima Puddle-duck and the Foxy Whiskered Gentleman. Both pieces bear circular backstamps with the text BEATRIX POTTER’S, F. Warne & Co. Ltd., and BESWICK ENGLAND, with copyright dates of 1948 and 1954 respectively. Multiple pieces bear the mark of Goebel, West Germany, identified by the characters Goebel and W. Germany alongside a V and bird symbol; these include a green frog playing a yellow saxophone (impressed model 3313), a purple glazed rabbit, and a robin. Also present is a figurine of a clown riding a tricycle with a puppy in a basket, which bears a blue mark consisting of a crown above the words The Leonardo Collection. The assortment is rounded out by several other bird-themed figurines, including a wren on a floral branch mounted on a turned wooden base and a colourful parrot on a tree stump.
