An Antique Victorian Jackfield Type Jetware Hand Painted and Gilded Three Piece Tea Service
A three piece ceramic tea service in the Jackfield jetware style, comprising a teapot with lid, a twin-handled sugar bowl, and a cream jug. Each piece is constructed from earthenware with a high-gloss black glaze. The set is decorated with hand-painted floral sprays featuring pink and white blossoms and green foliage. Further ornamentation includes gilded rims and handles, with mottled gold detailing applied towards the bases. The bodies of the vessels are lobed with ornate, scrolled handles. The underside of one piece features hand-painted characters in gold reading 7209 followed by a small o or 0.
